Flagship Achievements of Idhayangal
Dr Krishnan Swaminathan, is a Consultant in diabetes and endocrinology, based in Coimbatore. He is among the few doctors in India to hold a UK MD, MRCP, FRCP and a PhD from the prestigious IIT Madras. He is also the author of two books, Diabetes Demystified (English) and Samaniyanum Sarkarai Noyum (Tamil), and has published over eighty papers in peer-reviewed national and international journals. Having graduated from Madras Medical College, he trained further at renowned centres worldwide, including Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital, London; Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge; and Ninewells Hospital, Scotland, before returning to India in 2011. He is the founding trustee of Idhayangal Charitable Trust supporting more than 4000 underprivileged children with Juvenile Diabetes in India.
